We work with some of the biggest shipping companies in the world and can arrange transport for almost any type of cargo, either in containers specifically designed to carry dangerous or hazardous goods, or in general purpose containers.

Hazardous goods containers are also known as chemical stores and have been designed to minimise damage in the event of an accident or spillage. They are constructed from a special type of steel known as corten steel and have what is known as a bunded floor. This means that if there are any spills or leaks the chemicals will not seep out causing damage to the ship or area where the container is stored. They also have an anti-spark tread floor to minimise the risk of fire, and are well ventilated to prevent a build up of toxic fumes. A high-security lock box also means that the contents is totally secure and can only be accessed by authorised personnel.

General purpose containers are manufactured from either steel or aluminium and they are suitable for the carriage of any cargo that has not been classified as hazardous. They have vents in order to allow air in, and keep water out and can also be supplied with moisture traps if you think your cargo is likely to produce condensation. All our containers are extremely well secured and can be supplied with a high security lock box which will prevent any unauthorised access. They also have cargo securing points which ensures the safe transportation of your goods.

If you are not sure what type of container your cargo will require, take a look at our hazardous goods guide which gives you an idea of the type of cargo that will need to be shipped in a specialist container. If you’re not sure the best thing to do is give us a call and we will be able to confirm.
